Neurologic Adverse Events Rare after COVID-19 Vaccination

According to a report published in the Annals of Neurology, neurologic adverse events were rarefollowing COVID-19 vaccination.

The researchers analyzed data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).Among around 307 million vaccine doses administered in the U.S. during the first half of last year, 314,610 (0.1%) individuals reported experiencing any adverse event, with 105,214 (0.03%) individuals reporting neurologic events.

The researchers stated that the rate of neurologic adverse events following acute COVID-19 infection was up to 617-times higher compared to after receiving vaccination. The neurologic events occurred more commonly in individuals who were administered the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (0.15%) compared to the Pfizer-BioNTech (0.03%) or Moderna (0.03%) jabs… (Medpage Today)
